1990 | STARTED CAREER IN RETAIL MUSIC INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT
She was considered an asset by making the six stores she managed profitable. In 1998, Michelle was promoted to the corporate office of Trans World Entertainment where she started as a Store Merchandise Analyst and then created a new position as a Regional Marketing Manager covering over 500 stores. Michelle worked closely with the record labels to make sure the right mix of product was in each market and was priced and positioned appropriately to maximize sales.

Served as corporate liaison to the highest volume stores in Trans World Entertainment. Michelle analyzed merchandise sales and trends using Nielsen SoundScan reporting which enhanced genre mix and product sales throughout demographic markets. She was also responsible for buying all music and merchandise for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame store.

Promoted newly created regional marketing programs from sales and operations perspectives. Established relationships with independent vendors. Coordinated and executed all regional promotions – including artist/band instores, sales, contests and overall new release awareness. Researched trends and identified new marketing opportunities. Tracked, reported and analyzed results of each program.
2006 | EMI MUSIC/CAROLINE DISTRIBUTION MARKETING & SALES MANAGER
Managed all sales and marketing activies for the largest specialty retailer in the entertainment industry. Established and acheived new release goals for artists on a continuing basis. Developed and coordinated all artist events. Developed and managed artist budgets and marketing programs. Coordinated and worked with label sales and marketing to set overall marketing strategy for each artist.
